poladroid.net gave us (us as in PC users) a nice Christmas present : "The first public beta release for WINDOWS"
Since, I have been waiting for it for a while - thanks to the net buzz around it, I tried it out and below are some results. The released version is still in beta, so a few glitches were expected. However, nothing to signal so far, except that the little piece of software uses far more resources than it should.
The resulting pictures are good, but a few things to know : there is no way to select the crop (hence the "easy to use"), forcing you to either leave it to poladroid or to squarish your pictures first. Second, you get best results with low contrast images, meaning if you processed your pictures already to get a nice contrast, poladroid may not give you what you expected (in a sense that the point no ?!).

3 French bands make it to the top ten, which surprises me a little.

2007 was the Artic Monkeys year, 2008 was the Radiohead year.... What for 2009 ? I guess I'll listen more electronic music (Gotan Project, Bran Van 3000... The Ting Tings to a certain extent)... Let's See ;)
